Help…pains in arm, high liver enzymes, fast heartbeat?
Hi, this is not for me but for my dad. He is 54 and stopped smoking a couple weeks ago (he usually had a cig 3-4times a day)
Lately he has been having what he describes as pains and spasms on his right arm. I am thinking it could be carpal tunnel syndrome, but I’m not too sure. he doesn’t really spend that much time on the computer, but he works as a truck driver. I am thinking it could also be a pinched nerve because he did some repair work on his car.
the pain started at his upper arm but went down to his forearm but he says he gets it less often now that he took some Chinese herbal medicine…but I think that med is more for joint pain. when he is standing and using the mouse on the computer for a quick sec the pain comes back. it’s been happening for a month now, his doctor told him he could get him an appt. with a physiotherapist but my dad keeps saying he doesn’t have time (needs to pay bills etc.).
He also went to the doctor and took a blood test that showed up with high liver enzymes? but the doc said my dad doesn’t seem to have jaundice or any pain when the doc pressed on his abdomen. he has another blood test coming up. maybe it is cuz he takes sleeping pills?
also he said he has a rapid heartbeat sometimes, usually when he’s hungry, climbs the stairs, or does some hard work. lately this hasn’t been occuring as often.
these probs might not be related to each other but i’m wondering if anybody has experienced similar problems and what they’ve done to treat it.
any help is appreciated thank you so much.
[edit] concerning the elevated liver enzymes: my dad does not drink alcohol
