How did you cope or lessen the pregnancy symptoms?
Posted on December 06th, 2008 in Joint-Pain-Pregnancy
I am 9 weeks. I consider myself a pretty tough gal, I don’t like to complain much, but I am thoroughly DONE with these symptoms. My last pregnancy was beautiful compared to this one. I had NOTHING compared to this. Morning sickness 24/7, dizziness, irritability, nausea, joint and muscle pain, insomnia. sore boobs. You name it, I have it. I am so tired that I fall asleep during TV or conversations. What did you guys do to battle and and cope.

Second time around it is a little rougher isn’t it?
For the nausea I drank Mother to Be Tea by Yogi Tea around the clock. I would brew up a pitcher of it iced and sip it constantly. WORKED WONDERS!!!!! You can also try Preggie Pops, I had them, they were useless for me but my neighbor said it saved her life. Joint pain, go for a massage, or get Daddy to Be to give you one, and if it is really awful take Tylenol.
As far as irritability…… no known cure. Sorry. I had to try to tell myself that everybody around me had not suddenly jumped on an idiocy bandwagon….that I was the one who was different. I had to bite my tongue ALOT…….
Try to picture just about any guy you know going through what us ladies do in order to maintain the species…..that should give you a giggle
Good Luck

For the nausea, keep crackers on your night stand. Before you even get out of bed eat a few crackers. Also they wrist bands that help with motion sickness also help with morning sickness. Drink lots of water and make sure you are eating something even if it makes you sick. Try bland foods like toast, rice, cereal, bagels when nothing sounds good. This should help your dizziness. Ask you honey for lots of back and foot rubs to help with muscles pains and relax in a nice bath. As for being tired all I can say is sleep:) Your body is telling you what you need. Growing a baby takes a lot of energy so give yourself a break and sleep. Don’t feel bad about it. Enjoy the sleeping now cause in about 7 months you won’t be getting much! When I was pg I would take a nap at 2 or 3 pm then still fall asleep for the night at like 7pm! It gets better in your second trimester though. Congrats and Good Luck!

sleep, sleep and more sleep!! in the early months i felt awful, the same as you so i completely sympathise. for the nausea i used sea bands (the wristbands that you used to have as a child for travel sickness) they really seemed to help me so maybe they are worth a go? oo and ginger biscuits worked a treat, as for the morning sickness 24/7 i would consider going to the doctors there are some types of medication they can put you on to try and ease it a little i think
