I have unexplained joint pain in my hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, ankles, and sometimes knees.

I was tested for RA, Lupus, Lyme Disease etc. All tests cam back negative. I am in optimal health my doc said. LOL except I am Anemic and they cant figure out why.

She prescribed me to take Prednisone, 40mg for 7 days. It has not helped the pain at all. I have also tried to take Aleve and tons of tylenol and that doesn’t help either.

The tested me for inflammation with a SED RATE test. It came back as a "2" which means I have no inflammation.

And isnt prednisone a antiinflammitory? why would i need that if I have no inflammation. I just have pain. Also prednisone has all kinds of nasty side affects and I feell all out of it and sick. This sucks.

I dont understand why they wont prescribe me something like Vicoden. I took that for pain before, and it worked, and really had no bad side effects other than a little sleepiness

Can the doctor prescribe me that without a diagnosis of anytihng. I am miserable here . .and prednisone just adds more problems in addition to my pain. :(
Is my doctor a quack? everything she tells me and prescribes me doesn’t help and i feel worse and worse, not better.
If anyone has been through this same problem let me know.

Also what medicines actually work for joint pain?

I dont know what to do anymore, how can I be perfectly healthy, but be in pain?
