I am currently taking Seasonique birth control and my gyno recommended that I take calcium supplements for minor leg cramps that my birth control was causing me. So, I began taking 600 mg Calcium + Vitamin D supplement daily (for a few weeks now) and I have started to notice that my shoulders are so stiff and sore that I can barely raise them above my head. I thought the pain was from lifting a heave object, but I just lifted the object with one arm and both are sore. Could this joint pain be from the calcium supplements? And would switching to a calcium vitamin every other day help?
I was having leg cramps everyday, it was an on and off thing as to when they would occur. And I don’t think the doctor is pumping me full of useless pills. I’m having leg cramps as a side effect to the BC and he suggested calcium or potassium supplements to counteract it. I mean, I no longer have leg cramps from the BC while taking calcium - but now my arms are just sore.
And no, I do not have a sore throat.
